I have an IBM Lenovo T60

usually i put it on standby mode and the carry it around in my bag. Is this going to harm my harddisk and the laptop interor??

my laptop is Centrino Duo(1.8GHz) IBM-lenova T60 model.

i keep it switched on most of the time and only shutdown for a few hours everyday.
i need to know whether its safe for this laptop?
Is there a chance for some internal circuits to get 'burnt' ? OR software problems to come up???

Recently I have been getting error messages that my C hard drive is full and I need to free up some space. My computer also has a D hard drive, which is currently empty. Is there a way to transfer some programs and files from my C drive over to my D drive? Is there a way to make the D drive a new defualt location for new things I download or install? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi I have a USB mouse that all of a sudden will not work in any USB port. The scroll button on top of the mouse has a light inside and flickers at a fast rate. In device manager, if i plug the mouse in, the device manager list constantly tries to refresh itself as if its trying to install the USB mouse over and over but fails. Where should I start troubleshooting this? I have a PS/2 mouse working correctly in the meantime. 1 of the 6 USB ports gets the mouse to install itself in device manager but the mouse does not move and loses connection there as well.

PS I have tried a few USB mice now, with the same result on this computer.....

I bought the printer and camera off of ebay. The discs weren't included although I thought from reading the info providing on the ebay page for the items the person was including them. I was wrong however. So now I need to find the software. I can't afford to buy the discs. I live on a tight budget and my only income is my SSI/disability check.

I have a new laptop with a gforce video card and when i play games like Far Cry and Just Cause, the game will play fine for a few minutes then the graphics will split into these weird diagonal shapes and the game will eventually crash. How do I fix this

I checked the power cord on both ends to be sure that it was properly connected. I also tried it in a different outlet just to be sure. My bf's computer is right next to mine, and his is working fine. I had left my computer on while I was at work and came home and it was off (no one had been at my house). This has happened a couple times recently, where I come home from work and my computer is off. I'm presuming at this point that it has something to do with the power supply within the computer. What do you guys think?

due to my stupid things plz help me..
i hav only one drive c 74 gb ntfs partition
i want to divide 74 gb to other drive d,e,f,g ..in fat32.
when i insert 98 bootable disk itdidnt detect cdrom.
so i cant use fdisk.
and what so on in fdisk it will not show ntfs partition in fdisk.
plz suggest me freinds yaar.
rit now i hav instaled xp tempraily
so plz suggest me how to i divide 79gb to other drives in fat32 and how do i get partion of drives plz

I have the FireWire 1394 port on my pc(xp). Now, it can export the .avi files, but how can I convert digital to Analog(tv) signals?

My laptop screen was giving me a little trouble recently....Sometimes when I opened it the light on the screen would go black, but if I opened and shut it a couple times it would go back on. Well, now it just stays dark! The only way I can see the screen is is I put a flashlight to the screen to see....It isn't the contrast either! What is wrong? How do I fix this?

i have a new 250gb seagate (IDE)hard disk and i want to transfer those files from my old hard disk[ 80gb (IDE) ] to a new hard disk.

my pc specs are quite old, but i just want to upgrade the capacity of my hard disk for the mean time.
AMD Sempron 3000+
512mb ram DDR1
256mb video card.

Should i upgrade any hardware just to increase the speed of transfering/copying files? (am talking about, transfering from drive d: to drive c:)

What about transfering files to other pc, thru router? my LAN connection is just up to 100mbps. is there a way to increase the speed of transfering files?

please advice.

hello im in the rough draft stages if you will of building a gaming pc. im trying to save money, but i dont know **** about computers, and all the termonology give me a headache. I have a shoping cart full of some stuff from tigerdirect, and i need some help.

what more do i need?
what should i remove or replace?
would this grind out todays games?
is this a good setup?
suggestions?

A pop-up window recently appeared warning me that my hard drive was almost full and, on checking, I found I had less than 2GB (out of 37GB) free space left! This came as a surprise as I had not added any new programmes for ages however I carried out "disc clean-up", removed some large rarely used programmes, purchased and ran "Wincleaner" as well as "Ad-Aware" and "AVG Antispyware" but, to my surprise these actions did not appear to free up any significant space and I am still getting warnings! I tried to "defrag" but was told there was insufficient space to carry out this process (it apparently requires 15% space and I have less than 2%!) On looking at the defrag. analysis it appears that the most space is being taken up by "Contiguous" files (whatever that means!) and very little by "Unmoveable" files. So why can't I free up any space? Any help or suggestions from you experts out there would be gratefully received.
