my laptop is Centrino Duo(1.8GHz) IBM-lenova T60 model.

i keep it switched on most of the time and only shutdown for a few hours everyday.
i need to know whether its safe for this laptop?
Is there a chance for some internal circuits to get 'burnt' ? OR software problems to come up???

Does it have core2duo? dells with the c2d often have the followers on the backside of the pc so it rather overheats particularly on surfaces like a mattress or settee. Set it purely on a no longer worry-free floor like glass and notice if it nevertheless shuts off. additionally attempt cleansing out the fan section with a dirt blower. those could be sprayed each and each month or so whether that is not any longer that dusty. additionally attempt a chillpad. you are able to place it below your pc and it provides 2 cooling followers to help cut back the warmth. it is likewise very functional while you are going to place your pc on your lap, sounds like lots of the c2d processor notebooks are giving me 2d degree burns those days. otherwise i might say deliver it back to Dell because of the fact if all else fails, it would be a hardware malfunction, yet Dell and HP laptops with c2d (and fan shops on the backside adversarial to the factors or back) often have this situation.
