when it comes to dual core its probably at the low end of the line. but if you take in account all the other processors, I would say its pretty decent. But why buy that one? Get an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600. It runs at 2.4 Ghz. and it only costs $300. has a FSB of 1200 Mhz. and 4 Mb or L2 cache. plus it runs way cooler and on less energy then the older Intels.

Compared to the newer Core2Duo series it is low end.
In the line of Pentium D it is high end.

Don't get me wrong ... they are still excellent performers. It's just that many newer more powerful desktop processors have come along since there release in July 23 2006.

Go to this site where you can choose any two processors (Intel or AMD) & compare there performance with a variety of specific benchmarks :

its one of the highest for pentium d (mine is 820, 2.8ghz, 2x1mb l2 cache, 800mhz fsb) but now there is core2duo which is better dual core... i was thinkin of upgradin but its £500 to buy one......dat was the price of my pc ^_^

for pentium d- kinda high
for dual core- normal (not low)
for processors- pretty high as its dual core

its a lower level for dual core, but still a reasonable processor for most tasks.
