okay, i dont know if its the battery... its like.............

there is a chord coming from my laptop that connects to this thing, which connects to the wall... the think is BURNING HOT. this has never happend before sooooooo what do i do?? i unplugged it hoping it would help and my laptop is running on its battery.....

I was trying to install a new vid card and I was having troubles with the installation. I read to go into my BIOS and set some feature to some setting. I didn't know what I was doing exactly and I hit load optimal defaults. Now when my comp starts it is not reading any drives. I looked back in the BIOS and everything seems to be wiped. It says the only drive is the 1st floppy drive and it is not detecting any for of IDE or slave drives or anything at all. I cannot get into my computer. I tried to wipe it clean by attempting to boot from my xp disc however the only drive it reads is the 1st floppy and I do not even have a floppy drive installed. Please help me through this so I can avoid the expenses. Thank you in advance

I refilled the ink cartridge but the printer software keeps saying that the cartridge is empty. its still detecting the old ink level which is supposedly empty (its now refilled). now i can't print even though there's ink! help!

But when I put a disk in it makes all the sounds like its going to start playing, the light even blinks like normal, but it doesnt open up the program, so i put a dvd in and opened the program i use to play it, and it said DVD directory not found. So I tried a CD and opened iTunes it did not say there was a CD in the drive. So I opened Windows Media Player, and it said I didnt have a CD player. When I opened My computer It doesnt say i have any DVD/CD drive at all? How do I get my laptop to recognize my CD/DVD player? I have an Acer Aspire 3000. Running Windows XP with service pack 2.
I am very sure its not that the Drive is dirty, when you open my computer, the drive is not listed at all.

I have been using a stationary optical mouse with a thumb controlled trac-ball for ages.

It has started to wear out so I went to buy a new one just before Christmas and all the stores tell me they are no longer being made....

Can you tell me where I can buy one, or at least why they are not being made anymore?

This is a picture of the mouse I want. I have tried ordering online 6 times now and everytime I get an e-mail saying they are out of stock........

I have an HP printer that uses a "Black" cartridge and a "Tri-colour" cartridge. Does the Tri-colour cartridge contain black ink? If it does, will it make up for or produce the black ink once the Black cartridge runs out?

i can still see the stuff on the top and the bottem, so like i can still see the "start" and the bottem left, and can see the X to close the internet on the top right. but every thing inbetween is really big, the top of what i can see is"Ask Your Question: Enter Your Question and Check Spelling " and the bottem is the "next" to go to the next step in asking the question. how do i fix it?( i have windows XP )...
i already restarted it and it did not work.

or how fast it is accessed? Also, does using memory with lower latencies always increase system performance? or can memory operate faster than the processor at times so that latencies won't matter because the memory finishes before the processor?

I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RS630G. It came with an ATI Radeon 9200 which works fine (just can't play the newest graphic heavy games of course).

I bought and installed an ATI Radeon X1300 (AGP 8x/4x). I connected it to my power supply and knew it had power because I felt the graphics card fan working. I connected the monitor and turned the computer on... but the monitor never turned on. I knew the moniter had power because it had the orange "sleep" light on. However, the light never turned green and the monitor never turned turned on after I installed the new graphics card.

I put the old card back in and the light turned green and the monitor turned on as usual. I put the new card in again and nothing! Yes, I made sure the card was seated. It appears as if the computer does not recognize the card being present.

What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do? Is the card just defective? Please help me if you can. I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
