I refilled the ink cartridge but the printer software keeps saying that the cartridge is empty. its still detecting the old ink level which is supposedly empty (its now refilled). now i can't print even though there's ink! help!

If you do a search for refilled ink cartridges for your printer model, most have instructions on how to reset the printer so that it detects the newly installed cartridges

(i) I too face the same problem, but if I ignore the message and continue for printing, its working fine

(ii) The alternate may be : While installing the printer, it might have installed not just printer drivers, but also various associate softwares, try installing only printer driver (but not other associate programmes)

The best way for this is not to us the printer software CD autorun, but go for Start >> settings >> printers ... and then select 'add printer' and then browse the CD to select the printer drivers in the CD.
This will enable you to load only the printer and not the other associate softwares, which may work for your problem
