Looking to learn more about processors. Am a little familiar with the intel brand (other than the Celeron D? - is this one of their faster or newer ones?). What is considered faster in AMD, Athalon or Sempron? And last but not least, which would be faster: 1.8GHz or 3.2Ghz? I think I may have those two confused.
Thx in advance - g ...

what store (best buy, circuit city, sony store, etc...) will have the widest selection of computers that I can buy? I want a laptop with at least 200 GB of storage, and AMD 64x2 processer, and something that can support Company of Heroes and Counter-strike. Nothing too cheap nothin too expensive (1000-2000)

My computer keeps becoming unresponsive. I can open another browser and work on that one, but even that sometimes doesn't help. I also restart the computer if I think that will do the trick. The computer I use doesn't have a high processer speed and a good amount of memory. It only has 36 processes running. Any help would be appreciated.

It has to have ample memory space, but it can't be too expensive. (Don't want a Mac)

I recently purchased a Dell computer that has an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE video card in it. Although the monitor is capable and came with a DVI connection, the video card itself does not have DVI capabilities. I use my computer mainly for gaming and video/TV viewing. When I asked a tech expert they suggested that upgrading wouldn't do too much of a difference for me, however, I have an open mind. What would you recommend? Keep the video card? Or if not, which video card would you recommend to suit my needs?

So I was in the process of setting up a wireless network in my apartment. I plugged the blue plug that came with the router (looks pretty cheap wire) into my ethernet port on my labtop and plugged the other end into the router. The blue cord is now stuck in my labtop port. I've tried wiggling it and pulling but nothing. Any suggesstions? Can I take the back panels off and push it through from inside, like with a pen? thoughts?

Hi I have a Radeon X1300PRO right now and bought it a year from today and it has ALWAYS sucked. Now I see on ATI.com they have a trade in program going on. Now I am wondering how much better is a Radeon X1650PRO 512MB card then this X1300PRO? Is it worth $179.99 to upgrade to it? Or whats the best PCI-E card you could buy for under $170 and would be very good and much much better then this crap Radeon X1300PRO. I would like to buy a upgrade off of ATI.com or Newegg.com (newegg is better) Please leave links. Thanks a lot everyone!

I have the Ubuntu live CD. I want to install it. It says that I need to partition the disk. My options are:

•Resize IDE1 master, partition #1 (hda1) and use free space
•Erase entire disk: IDE1 master (hda) - 60.1 GB
•Use the largest continous freespace
•Manually edit partition table

Which should I do?
