you're pretentious!
<> are you aware that this is the latest storage technology for laptops and still hard to find?
Alienware and Dell XPS systems exceed your budget, so you have not many opportunities.
The Dell E1705 can be ordered with a 200GB harddisk, good graphics card GeForce 7900 GS and Intel Core (2) Duo (Turion 64x2 is not available).
http://www.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/cto_inspn_e1705?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
The HP dv9000t (Intel CPU) or dv9000z (AMD CPU) are laptops with 2 internal hard disks with a capacity up to 2x120GB and a GeForce Go 7600 what is also a good graphics card.
I would go for the dv9000t, because the Core 2 Duo is superior to the Turion 64x2. battery life is longer because of the excellent power management system of the Core 2 Duo processors.

Best thing to do is write down what you want and take it to each store to see if they can meet the specifications. i would also add in a 3 year extended service plan. Make sure that the store can service the notebook so that you do not have to mail it in to the manufacturer. There's no way anyone can provide you with an exact answer unless they work for Best Buy or Circuit City.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them, and everything is Vista ready.
Microsoft is about to release its latest operating system, Vista, in January. It’s going to make all of these “bargain” computers nothing but JUNK as soon as it’s released. The reason that you are seeing so many cheap systems on the market right now is because a lot of them CAN’T RUN Vista and the merchants are trying to dump them as hard and fast as they can before Vista shows up and everyone learns what a piece of crap they were sold for $500 (or whatever).
Anyway, I bought a complete, new system from stupidcheapcomputers.net with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the manufacturer. You can use my frequent buyer code: ATX926. That will get an additional 10% discount at checkout.
I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me and their customer service is outstanding. Those guys blow my mind.
Good luck!

if your going to buy a computer the best way to check things out is check on the service by phoning them up dell hp who ever ... if you get through within lets say 10 .minutes thats good, if you don't the drop that company from your list,
the best way i would go is to a small pc shop that builds computers .. and wait out side, I'd ask people that go in/leave questions about their sevice, plus if you buy from the big stores their service is not that great. they are only there to sell you a computer and the sales man/woman will not be bothered after the sale if you get a good after sales service or not
where a small computer shop that builds the computer for you will give you the better sevice cause he will want you to return for upgrades and other sales
the big multi stores are at the end of the day a box shifter of products made in china for the big companies you name it it's not made here,

Hey,
for a gaming pc, i'd recommend Alienware. Try the Aurora m9700. It's the best in it's class.

Do you have a Micro-Center by you. They have some great deals and the staff knows what they are talking about.
