HP says that it's printers software won't work with the latest version of Internet Explorer and won't work with Windows Vista next month.
Why don't they just write updated software to make it work instead of letting their printers become useless (unless you don't allow Windows updates and upgrades)?

Everything about the printer is working perfectly but nothing prints out on the paper. Printer goes through it's whole process but prints nothing. All new ink etc, what could be the problem?

I have a beautiful 3d "Winter Scene" screensaver. Previously I've just let the screen go dark. How much energy does the screensaver consume? Our Windows XP is set on "shut down hard disks: never" since we use the computer extensively. Thanks!

I have had to re-Install my Windows XP Professional operating system but since then two of my USBs refuse to work. Now, if I for example I want to use the printer I need to discconect for example the joystick. Before this trouvble, all 4 USBs were OK. Any ideas what the problem is ? What is more puzzling for me is that the joystick for example sometimes works and sometimes does not. Please help !!!!!!!! THANKS.

Okay, I just recently reformatted my computer. After installation of XP and everything was done, a message popped up that said Windows needed to adjust my screen resolution or something, and there was no cancel option so I clicked OK. When I got in though, my computer was running at a 4-bit colour quality, which if you've ever seen it, looks disgusting. I went to display settings to try and change the colour quality to 32-bit, the type it was before I had reformatted, but there was no 32-bit option, there wasn't even a 16-bit option, there was only 4. Also, I am unable to slide the scaler to change my screen resolution from 640 x 480 pixels. I've tried installing different types of video and graphic drivers, but the same thing happens. I go through the legal stuff, then when it says "_______ is preparing the Install Shield Wizard to guide you through setup" and the Install Shield Wizard never loads, and there is no sign of it in task manager.

I'm getting a gig of RAM thats faster than my current RAM(it compatible....what i'm getting is I Gig DDR-400, while my current is 512mb DDR-333), will it still work? Also should I update my BIOS and power supply(i have a 250 watt supply)?

When i change my volume or my monitor brightness it wont show up to tell me how much i have changed

like usually a bar shows up and tells me how high i am changing the volume to etc same with brightness (fn + up arrow key or down)

but now its gone.

okay,i want to buy more ram for my laptop[i have 256mb at mo] and went to www.crucial.com to get some

so i downloaded the program to get my recommended extra ram
and my system stats


so i have 1 free ram slot.good news*cheers*

it says i need DDR PC2700 type memory,thats cool ,they recommened some

1 problem:they have alist of questions i can ask and they give automatic answers:
1 of them is Does my computer support dual channel memory?
it said no


what does that mean?




if i get another 256 of ram, DDR PC2700, will it doublem my ram and make programs run faster?

Hi. I have an hp pavillion laptop and I had to take it apart today and when I put it back together, the screen won't work but everything else does. Someone told me to check and make sure the screen is connected to the power source and that I didn't accidentally disconnect it. Does anyone know where I should look? I don't see anything that looks loose...

Everytime i use my laptop on my lap my legs burn even though the laptop is not hot. The burning continues even when i have stopped using it. Has anyone else experienced this or know why this is happening?
