Hi. I have an hp pavillion laptop and I had to take it apart today and when I put it back together, the screen won't work but everything else does. Someone told me to check and make sure the screen is connected to the power source and that I didn't accidentally disconnect it. Does anyone know where I should look? I don't see anything that looks loose...

Thanks

you can't see if the concetions are set properly, you need to reopen and press down all connections gentaly and look for any wires that are pinched and unpinch them.
I hope this helps

I strongly recommend you have a computer professional work on your laptop. There are too many things to mention that may have gone wrong here - hopefully the screen not being connected is the only problem you have. Try connecting an external monitor to the monitor port on the back of your laptop to make sure the computer still works. If it does, then and only then would I recommend taking your laptop back apart and trying to figure out which cable isn't connected. It will be a cable that connects to the LCD display. But, every time you go into your laptop, you risk destroying it simply by touching it (See ESD Damage). Most people don't try to fix their own PCs, laptops are even more difficult since each one is different and they all use unique hardware.

However, I do strongly commend you on your efforts! You have taken a big first step towards working on computers yourself. Just know what your limitations are. I've worked on PCs for over 15 years, and I know that most broken laptops are not worth fixing. Why did you open it in the first place?
