Umm I have a question about a computer my friend is trying to sell me

Its 1 years old
AMD 3200+ 64bit processor, 114GB, 1gb of RAM, 4 hyper fans, xtreme heatsink, neon lights, 450watt case, fan control knob, 6600gt 128mb gfx card, a8n asus motherboard, 4 usb ports, firewire, 2 network cards

and he is selling it for 400$ is it a good price or a rip off?

I know that pc3200 is the fastest, but i have another system that has 2x512mb 2100, and i am going to get a gb of pc3200 ram for a custom system, but could i have the gb stick, and then two of the 512's or would this damage the motherboard?

i already have internet on my reg. pc but i want it an my laptop w/ out paying for a whole new plan

My PC shuts itself down shortly after startup. Windows XP.

Tried system restore - doesn't work
Tried closing down newly added programs in msconfig - no deal
It is not a dell - IBM
Any other ideas?

A friend of mine has a Laptop, only 6 months old, she sets the laptop up with the power adapter going from a power socket from the wall to her laptop and she also plugs in her phone line into the internal modem, at this stage she does not even have to power up the laptop or even turn the switch on at the wall and this is what happens : she went to pick up her phone and its making a large buzzing sound, she then can unplug the power adapter from the wall to the laptop and just run it off the battery and there is no buzzing sound over the phone. what is wrong with it?

I purchased it from someone who does not know the name of the original owner. (I know, fishy) I am trying to re-register it through Dell, but they need the name of the previous owner to proceed. I tried changing something on it that only the previous administrator could do, and now I can't run windows without entering the username and password. Is there any way to fix this problem or am I screwed?

I built my own computer with a 320 Gb harddrive. I know it's that size b/c it's written right on it. the problem is that in windows xp pro, the size shows up as a total of 127Gb. It's trying to tell me that the size of the whole drive is 127Gb which i know it's not. how can i get it to recognize??

Do I need to replace the battery on my laptop ? I use my lap top only at home its always hooked up to a outlet. The battery has died will it affect my laptop? I don't know if it already did or it is something else. When I turn my laptop off sometimes it will not come back on I have to keep pressing the power button until it starts up. What's wrong with it ? Is it because of the battery ?

This came up in my A+ hardware class and the teacher wasn't sure. If you have a USM floppy drive, a A: internal floppy and no B: drive, does the USB get assigned the next 'floppy' drive letter, being B: or the next normal drive letter.

We've been trying to fix it since yesterday. Like the computer works but the monitor is just a black screen? We've unplugged it alot of times, and it just won't work! We've tried cleaning the wires etc, and its not working. Can you help please?
