15 minutes is stable going for a computer battery of that age. replace batteries are accessible on the cyber web, yet pay attention of dodgy sellers on eBay or Amazon. i bought a battery from a internet site pronounced as "Laptops and Spares", that's a stable internet site. to advance the existence of a clean battery, continually eliminate it from the laptop except you're the two charging it up or working the laptop off of it. the warmth from a working laptop is undesirable for the battery.

If you are on battery, turn off wifi if ya ain't using it. Helps save battery. Dim the screen to save battery too. Yep, 2-3 hours when new. Depends on how much you use things like CD, USB, or floppy. The more stuff ya got plugged in, the more energy it burns.

depends on the battery type... my sis has a dell latitude w/ a 6-cell, on a good day it lasts about 3-5 hours... 12-cells can last like 8 hours on a bad day... plus, running dics use the batt life up faster, and try to use cooling pads, cuz too much heat can burn up its energy faster. i'd recommend getting 2 6-cells, or a 12-cell, or if you can afford, use a 6 cell as your primary, and a 12 cell for later.

My laptop uses an honest-to-(insert politically corrrect deity) ambient energy accumulator. It has miles of ultra-effieicnt antennas packed along a fractal-based 4Dmatrix into a chip the size of my hand, and produces enough power to run the thing indefinately. Therefore, my battery life is infinite.
