I found this at a yard sale for a buck it might really be worth that or not what is this "Stealth 3D 4000 AGP 4MB" Does this suck or could it improve my graphics right now i have a intel graphics media accelerator 900.

I recently had a problem on my system. The icons on my system tray were small and out of focus. I changed the resolution and the DPI settings to normal. Now my icons are giving me trouble. They are all stuck together on one side of my screen. The icons are almost overlapping each other. Changing the icon arrangement does nothing. Anybody got any ideas?

I logged onto my computer today after not touching my computer all day, and when I logged onto my iTunes every single one of my songs, music videos, tv shows, everything was gone... and we I went to download the free single of the week again, it said I had alread bought it, but when I looked in my purchased folder it wasn't there. For some reason everything is either hidden somewhere, or I don't know. Does anyone out there know what to do to get all my music back?

I have an HP Pavilion a450y running XP service pack 2. Every time I try to shut the computer down, restart it, or put it to sleep, it freezes on the very last screen. It's a blue screen that says "Windows is shutting down".

The only way I can get it to do anything after that is to hold the power button down and then do a hard restart. It used to do this only occassionally. Now it does it every time.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or repair this? Someone suggested BIOS, but I updated that to no avail. Any other tricks, or good programs for helping me troubleshoot it?

I don't know computers well enough to know what is vital (programs, speed, brand etc.) when buying a new laptop now. I want to get a really good computer for graduate school - I am 22 and going for my communications masters and need a computer that is equiped and will last me (had this last Dell for about 5 years). I just don't know what to really look for - I would like specifics if at all possible- Thanks so much!

A time ago if you want to buy a laptop you have to pay between $700 to $1500 today you can get one with less than $400 with all the trimmings. Do you believe that the sellers are charitable people? I don't so out there should have a reason for this.

I am considering buying a pair of opteron cpus. I am looking that the 246 HE models and they look good considering that i have a very limited buget and that i am upgrading from amd xp 2100 cpu. I will be getting a new mainboard also.

No sound coming out. My pc tells me the sound programme is ok, the driver is ok and the speakers are working, so i guess the sound card got blown when there was a recent power surge (via the modem).
So how do i put a new one in? Opened it up, but i am a novice and recognise nothing. What do i look for, and is it a case of pull the old one out and pop the new one in?
Are all s-cards basically the same or can you recommend one?

The viruses affect my pc in annoying ways eg refuses to shut down. Instead of sending it to computer shop to reformat the hard disc, I want to know how to do it on my own. The computer takes 2-3 hours to do the work. Why does it take so long?

A friend has a USB Flash memory 512 MB, he has lots of very important data on it .. for some reason it stoped working !! tryed connecting it on more than one PC .. i even tryed connecting it to Mac .. still not working .. the computer will not even notice u connected it to the USB .. as if it's not there ..

My hard drive (or could have been the fan) has been making these loud weird noises. Now, my computer will not boot. I'm getting the smiley/? folder of death. When I took it to the mac bar, the "genius" I think he removed the battery and held a few buttons and it worked fine. I know he did not reset the PRAM, but he did something else. I'm not sure what though.

i just bought a mitsubishi apricot AL300 with CPU CELERON 333MHz, 128RAM, 4.6HDD. are the specs enough to be able to use it for Microsoft Office and internet? is it ok if i would just install it with windows 2000OS.
