i just bought a mitsubishi apricot AL300 with CPU CELERON 333MHz, 128RAM, 4.6HDD. are the specs enough to be able to use it for Microsoft Office and internet? is it ok if i would just install it with windows 2000OS.

if the specs arent enough for these needs, what shall i purchase to upgrade it a bit? im just gonna use it for typing stuff and browsing the internet and the files will be saved on diskettes

please take note that im not going to use it on games or anything...just the basics, typing and internet..no downloading etc...

Yes this computer will work with windows 2000 and microsoft office. I recommend updating the RAM by another 128. Windows XP cannot go on that system unless you have 256 ram or greater.

Also the HD is 4.6gb? This is not much space, so dont do anything on it other than your documents for school or work. Do not load a bunch of stuff on it.

To be very truthful with you, I recommend you forget aboiut doing anything more than getting it internet enabled. Take advantage of Google (or another service's) free word processing. That processor/memory combination is simply too old and slow for any of today's products. Spending money to upgrade it would be throwing good moeny after bad. Sorry...

that kinda laptop. i not use it is so far out of date ur be lucky it will run right to pay out more cash on that ur may as well buy a new one .
333MHz . is noting in this world of pc's 128mbr verry low 4.6 hdd for get that ur not goin to get much to work right at all on it . to tell you the truth it was not a good. thing to buy id not even look at something that is so old an out of date. to spend more on that now . you can buy a new one. for the cash you will lay on on getting that upto date a new one will cost less. in pc world that is just no good 333MHz thats type of MHZ new games of to day ur be lucky if they work on it

Hi. It should work fine for browsing and word processing. It would struggle with most newer games. Also I would not invest in anything for this laptop, stick with your simple tasks and forget about Win XP. (I like Win XP, but it would not work fast enough on this machine.)

windows 2k will be ok you might even get away with windows xp as i have installed it on a 166mhz pc and it runs ok all be it alittle slow. Windows 2k or windows me would be ok tho.
