DVD drives aren't software.

A DVD drive is a piece of hardware and if you can't play DVDs now but could before, there is something you did to stop it. Go back and see what it is you did.

The drive might be dirty, which doesn't have a thing to do with how much pr0n has been played on it ... LOL. Sorry, couldn't resist. :-) It's worth a try to clean the drive, and see if that makes a difference, before writing the drive off as toast. Get a cleaning CD (they cost around $10), read the fine print, and make sure it will work for computer CD and DVD drives as well as audio CD players. Then use it on the drive on your computer. After that, give the drive a try with another disk. If it still doesn't work, then look into replacing the drive. Good luck!

A Software program that allows you to play DVD's is what you need. Power DVD for example. If you do a search for DVD software you might be able to find a free downloadable program to try.

As far as playing CD-ROM's if you have a Windows based computer you should be able to play them through Window's Media Player.

A DVD drive is a piece of hardware that you put a disc in! You dont download it! If you use to play them, you have a drive. Put the software back in that came with it!

Yes you have to look around for it but what you need is software to make the dvd drive work and never delete anything if you do not know what is going to happen.

First, go to theweb site for your computer's manufacturer and see if there are driver updates.

If the drive is broken, buy a new drive off of eBay.

Go to your device manager and uninstall the drive, then reboot the computer.Right tic on "My Computer" select "Manage", tic on "device manager" in the right pane. Tic on the little "plus" sign to the left of "Disk Drives" and then right tic on the drive that doesn't work and select "uninstall".

Yes, you can look the website for whatever brand and model PC you have. They usually have default drivers for all their PCs.
