if i'm understanding your question right.....a kb file is measured in kilobytes and an mb file is measured in megabytes...so the difference is a function of size

A 'byte,' (abbreviated as 'b') is a measurement of the size of an electronic file. The 'k' stands for 'kilo' and the 'b' stands for 'byte,' and 'kilo' means 'thousand.' In 'MB' or 'megabyte' 'mega' stands for 'million.'
If you didn't feel like reading that, one MB (megabyte) is equal to 1,000 KB (kilobytes).

1 is bigger than the other, mb is bigger than kb.
bit, byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabite, etc.
note: mb is not exactly 1000kb, its a little bit more than that.
