Ok, I'm building a PC that will have AMD Athlon X2 4600 on a AM2 socket motherboard, so that I can run DDR2 memory. I will be using my computer for some video editing, gaming (nothing extreme), and other such apps. What type of memory would you recommend? Is there such a thing as memory that would be too fast or too slow for my computer? I'm currently looking at Mushkin 2GB (2x1GB) 667 (PC2 5300). Will this be compatable?

Is it true about Alienware?
I got this answer from one of my questions and I quote " I'd say get the Dell. The Alienware has a Pentium D which is bottom of the dual core ladder and has heat issues. The Alienware also uses integrated Intel Graphics, the worst graphics on the planet. I honestly never knew Alienware could make that crappy a machine. I guess Dell really ruined the company when they purchased it.

The Dell on the other hand has a Core 2 Duo processor which is the best dual core option out there. It also has a minimum of a DVD burner and a much larger hard drive. At its base cost it includes a solid GeForce 7300 video card. It's not the best but you can choose better if you want to.

For the price, the Dell totally blows away the Alienware computer "

whats the best a.g.p card for vista beta,i have tried to install the vista drivers for a ge-force 4 mmx(xddm) but the drivers wont work with that card
there are plenty of cheap a.g.p cards, but which one will work with vista ,i only want it to play basic 3d games so something with shader + pixel model 2.0 will do as this is also the min requirements for windows vista aero
also does anyone know any other nvidia vista driver downloads apart from the ones on the nvidia site
cheers

Hi-My computer was struck by lightning. The CD-R, Memory, and Hard drive all still work because I tried them in another computer. (I have now put them back into the one that was hit by lightning)

When I plug in the computer and try to turn it on, nothing happens. Is there a relatively easy (and inexpensive) way to fix the problem. What would I have to buy? A whole new motherboard? Is there any way I could just buy a new power supply in the CPU. I know this isn't alot to go by, but any help will be appreciated.

I put a new SATA hard disk and computer won´t start. My power supply is 420W and I have connected a DVD-ROM and a CD-ROM and an IDE hard drive. So, I think that there should be enough power supplied by the power supply. Disconnecting power to the SATA drive and computer starts beautifully.

I'm not talking about the USB specification for computers or devices, or the connctors for that matter. What I want to know is if I purchase a USB 2.0 device, and I use my old USB cable? Is "USB 2.0 Compliant" in reference to a cable merely a marketing gimmic, or is there really a difference?

can't see 'a' drive on 'my computer', device manager reports all devices working correctly, can hear drive initialise on power up but no green light. help and support centre doesn't help - reports all ok. ribbon cable and power cable changed but no change - this is a mitsumi drive restarting computer doesn't work either.
