How can i view my laptop through my tv without picture distortion?

I tried using my laptop on my tv to watch my movies, it worked ok but i noticed it wasnt displaying all the image that was shown on the laptop, i tried changing the tv settings but to no avail, i messed around wiith the settins in my laptop still nothing ,how can i resolve this

Your TV might not be able to handle all the resolution that your laptop can. My guess is that you are trying to use an older cathode ray tube TV. I plug my laptop into a 26" LCD TV and it is pure heaven. I think you'll have to buy a new LCD or gas plasma TV, one that can handle the output resolution from the laptop.

If you want the same quality, forget it. Laptop screens support higher resolutions than TVs and handle the signal much better. You'll never get laptop screen quality on a TV.

You probably won't like this answer, but that's the sad truth.

If you are talking about picture cropping, there *ARE* ways around this...but it depends on your television and the connections on its rear.

You could use a svideo cable then change the resolution settings on your laptop to get the best picture.
