Ok, I'm building a PC that will have AMD Athlon X2 4600 on a AM2 socket motherboard, so that I can run DDR2 memory. I will be using my computer for some video editing, gaming (nothing extreme), and other such apps. What type of memory would you recommend? Is there such a thing as memory that would be too fast or too slow for my computer? I'm currently looking at Mushkin 2GB (2x1GB) 667 (PC2 5300). Will this be compatable?

two 1gb PC2-5300 would be good for this. Unless you plan to overclock or manually change settings in your BIOS, stay away from the high performance parts (i.e. HyperX, Ballistix, XMS, etc).

Check the mobo manual. The specs will tell you the type of memory that the mobo can handle and the max capacities. I do video editing and I say 2 GB minimum. Which is what I have on my own box.

Just tell the memory vendor the specs of your other parts and 99% of the time he'd give you the best one that is suitable 4 your MB.I'd recommend 2-4GB 800MHz RAM.Try to buy sumthin like kingston.
