world of warcraft locksup and a few game demos are locking up when I start them. Or they start and lockup and start and lockup and start ect.ect. Tryed everything. New drivers. defrag the HD, system restore. I think my motherboard is on the blink

Just for games? Then it's got something to do with DirectX, not anything that would affect all your programs like a memory or hard drive problem.
Are you using the latest DirectX runtime files from Microsoft?
Perhaps you can at least figure out whether or not the problem is with sound or with video.
Try disabling your sound driver, then running a direct X program. If the game still crashes, then it's a video problem.

Run a couple of memory tests too.

Also try re-seating the heat sink (make sure to use lube) and see if the fan still works (remove dust if necessary) the CPU may be overheating. It does sound like a hardware problem.

Your too hot! More case fans are needed and verify the operation of the CPU fan. If the CPU fan is replaced, try a Zalman fan and use "Arctic Silver" thermal grease. The PSU may be too small. Run with an AMD processor, they tend to run slightly cooler.

make sure you have java installed if ur not sure what that is it controls 90% of how the games are played if u have it already youll see it in the control panel looks like a little coffee cup if not go to java downloads and install real simple to do
