I'm looking at two AMD processors.....both are the Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ Socket AM2. The only difference in the two (that I could see) is the Thermal Power.

One is the "Windsor" with a thermal power of 89w and it sells for $148.

The other is the "Orleans" with a thermal power of 62w and it sells for $42 less than the Windsor.

Why so much difference in the cost?

Is the 89w faster than the 62w? Or what?

I've been thinking about getting an external hard drive, but I heard the transfer rates for USB1.1 makes it useless. But how do I check if I have 1.1 or 2.0? My computer is about five years old now, by the way.

Thanks in advance.

I recently had to wipe out my hard drive and reload the programs since I had a worm. What I didn't realize was that I didn't have the disc to my digital camera. I saved my pics that were taken and loaded already, but now without that program, I can't load any new pics in or change the already loaded pics. I have a Kodak Easy Share camera. Is there any way I can get or download the program for my camera?

I would be on for an hour or two then this little window from the bottom pops up and says my virtual memory is low and it may cause some things not to go through. It's been going on for about a week or so now. I deleted lots of old games and other junk but that did not work. What else can I do? What is Virtual Memory by the way?

I have a SATA300GB hard disk. I would like to conenct it to an IDE Motherboard, or to be more specific THIS:

http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/reseller/en306tv5.jpg

I have found a connector but i am not sure if it will work:

http://www.addonics.com/products/io/images/adsaide_enlarge.gif

Although this is very expensive. There is another type, that is abit different but im not sure if it will do the job the above does:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SATA-to-IDE-Converter-Adapter-50cm-SATA-cable-p11_W0QQitemZ130014740640QQihZ003QQcategoryZ74941QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Now, Also there is another type but the IDE CONNECTOR is different and will not connect to the enclosure above :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180014929690&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX_Stores

Now is it even possible to connect a SATA hard disk to IDE ?

Do these connectors even do the job ?

Also is there a IDE CONNECTOR ( you know those long wide connectors) that both tips are MALE ??
