Hardware - July 2006

my CPU is working properly its just that once in a while i hear a long sound "tit..........." and then it stops and then an hour or two there it goes again. what's supposed to be the problem and how will i resolve this right away.

My computer is very fast and the windows seems normal.
sometimes when i work with it freezes and needs master reset. is it because of getting hot or somthing else?

Im a life science student,want to learn how to assemble, what i know is to download and upload software using software CDs and online softwares, Can i learn to assemble, I have money to buy all the required stuffs .I have monitor and a web cam which I got from my uncle.Is there any website which will teach me to do this ,Or some body please help me step by step ,is that easy ?

My cordless optical Logitech USB mouse gets disconnect once in a while. I have to unplug the USB cord and reconnect it to make it work. How to fix this?

I was playing a trial version Of Family Feud that I downloaded off of yahoo games and my comp froze up. I had to shut it off by holding down the power button and when I restarted it I noticed the screen has 2 inch margains on both sides and the fonts and icons are larger than usual. How do I go about fixing this!!!

sometimes when i load my dvd +writer the icon freezes and icant move tha icon or press any buttons on the keyboard . so i have to hold in the power button on the tower to turn it off . then ihave to turn it on and then its o.k .i have cleaned the heads also .is there anything i can do to stop this unusual behaviour.some one help me please. .....hare krsna

one of my partitions has windows xp, and the other has win 98, i also have another hard drive which is under xp..now what i want to do is remove win98 without affecting my xp, and then be able to use it for xp..i don't mind keeping the partition, i just want that space back
