No, you cannot burn DVDs with a CDR Burner. You must have a DVD burner.

Unlike CDR Drive Burners, DVD Burners can come in different forms. That is because there are different blank DVD media types DVD+ and DVD-. In addition some DVD burners are "dual layer" and others (more earlier models, pre 2004) didn't support the dual layer burn which is what you need to back-up most conventional DVDs.

no you need a dvd writer. or you can copy the content of the dvd into a hard disk using DVD reader. Then using CD writer you can burn in a cdr. but it requires more number of cds for coping one dvd

No is the correct answer. They are 2 completely different formats.
You can get drives/burners that will do both however.

nopes.. its called a CD burner
They have a seperate device called a dvd burner for that

ies and no.no not on a disk.and yes you could burn a dvd on your harddisck.the better way is to burn a svcd

no, but you can convert the movies to vcd and burn them onto cd's
