Well, I leave my pc on all night on occasion, and during those nights sometimes it turns off and doesn't turn back on in the morning when I manually press the power-on button on my tower. And now and days, when it does turn off while I'm using it I'd have to go to the back of the tower reconnect and fiddle around with the power plug and the power switch. Any idea why it's doing that? (I have a theory it's because it might be overheating but I started having this problem a few months ago, and I've been leaving it on overnight as I am now when I first got my pc)

I burned a cd from an original cd using Media Player and when I play the new cd i can hear clicks intermingled with the music. But during any pauses, the clicking stops. It's very subtle, but it's there nonetheless...i only hear this when I play it on a car or home stereo cd player.

I am trying to fix a friend's computer but he needs drivers for his motherboard. He claims that no CD came with the motherboard, but I call BS. I know the motherboard's manufacturer has downloadable drivers and software on their website, but how do I know what motherboard his system is using??? Softwarewise he is using XP Home Edition... Has a AMD Athlon 1800 and 512 mb of RAM. Any ideas????

I keep on hearing a little squeak coming from my computer, sometimes it freezes, sometimes it doesn't. It usually is just a matter of time until it does in fact freeze, or automatically restart. Usually, windows will not even boot up after the loading screen, so I restart, and choose boot with last workign setting. It works for a bit, then it will freeze up again. I have no idea what the problem is, but I came down to a few possibilities. Maybe I need a new power source? I have fans cooling my computer. Sometimes, it will have quick lockups with the mouse. Could it be my memory? Ugh, help please =)

Ok this is weird, i have only had nmy computer about 18 months but I am now having problems with the fan which makes a hell of a racket. At first i thought it was due to the extrem heat we have been experiencing but then it never did this last summer!

Also is it not all the time, and if I do a systems restore, it seems to sort the problem out. However this only lasts for a few days and then it starts to do it again.

I am wondering if there is a bug in windows XP itself that i am not aware of, as surely if it was directly hardware related then a systems restore wouldn't help at all.

I have never ahd this problem with my previous computers so I am wondering what the heck is going on. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm currently purchased a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM. However, my laptop doesn't have any port to let me use that harddrive. I thought about an enclosures with a cooling fan. However, I'm quite confused with all the "terms" like eSATA, internal interface, external interface. And I also need a good recommendation of which enclosure I should purchase (as low price as possible). I need to use the drive as an external hdd with my laptop. Thanks!

My brother is customizing his truck and he already bought an eight inch touch screen in dash navi/radio/whatever else it does. The 13 Pin I/F jack input is for the navigation, but we were wondering if there was a cable that converts monitor output into the thirteen pin jack, so he could make his laptop available on the eight inch screen and make it touch screen compatible. Thanks

ive just got doom 3 from a car boot sale for my lap top, it just about meets all the specs on the back of the box but when running runs a little slow and is only playable when the graphics are turned right down so the charactors look a little boxey unlike the graphics on the box. ive got a intel extreme graphics 2 64 meg vga, i know ive got a 512 mb ram card and the game requires 384 mb, the processer is on the limit at 1.5 ghz so i think this should be ok. ive only limited knowledge about computers so any simple term advice would be great! many thanks.

I have a toshiba laptop with minimal storage and really I just want to save some space on my little desk and get rid of this obese monitor without having to buy a flat screen. I figure that I can use the pc as the external storage and save my space on my laptop which I rarely use now.
