I completely setup the ASUS WL-500gPremium wireless router. The LAN cable connected fine and the gateway come up on my computer and my laptop(in-built wireless support) finds the network and connects to it.
My modem is the latest Bigpond NextG wireless broadband modem, model BP3-EXT.

The only problem is I cannot connect the WAN, as there is no cable, exept the USB cable which connects my modem to my computer, so I connected the modem to the router through the USB cable.

Theres no WAN port on my modem..

Everything is working, exept the INTERNET..
also when i press Enable on my internet gateway, it says connected but on the status it says connecting, then minuts on its disables again.

DONT SAY REFER TO MANUAL, LOOK ON GOOGLE OR TRY THE TROUBLESHOOTER

THANKYOU, best answer wins

What is the loss of speed amount to from a wired network as opposed to a wireless one- taking into account that the router and pc ( wirelessly) are seperated by one floor ( typical house) and I am using 8Mb broadband. When using ethernet cable I get speeds of 6.5Mb, so what speed would I get from a wireless adaptor?

I'm in the process of buying a 4-family home and want to provide wireless internet to my tenants. The cable company wants 4 separate accounts each paying the full monthly price for internet access. Can't I just get one account and hook it up to a wireless router to provide for the building? If so, is there one router better than others for handling a potential four users at once? What else should I consider?

I have a windows2003 SP2 server here that has a statically set IP. It was working fine until today. For some reason nothing on the network can see or ping the machine, but the machine can ping and see everything else on the network. The machine can even ping the internet. So it looks like the connection some how became one way. However, when I switch to DHCP, it picks up the same ip address as when it was static, but now everything works fine. If I switch back to static, it becomes one way again. Please Help!!

My internet speed on my iMac is slow. It just my computer, I've plugged a Windows Laptop into the same connection, and it's just fine, speedy as ever. This trouble started a few days ago, I'll get on Safari and it'll go to about four pages just fine, but then on the fifth page, it'll just stop and won't load the page, no matter how long I wait. What do I need to do?

We replaced the previous router with the netopia 3387wg-vgx. I was able to access the wireless network for a while then I started receiving error messages and cant seem to log on even though I typed in the 26 character encryption code and verified it.
