Yeah, agree with the other poster, probably not possible anymore. Any decent Class 5 switch (AT&T 5ESS, Nortel DMS, etc) with running a generic from the mid 80's or later should be pretty much resistent to any of those tricks.

The last noteable one that I heard of was the Captain Crunch whistle people used to signal the switch to open a circuit which they could then use to make international calls. That was in the mid 70's.

From what I have read, it is impossible in the U.S. and most other countries because they changed the way the phone system operates. It might still be possible in underdeveloped countries, though.

I tried it like 2 weeks ago, it was ok but in the end you feel kinda stupid LOL!! because nobody is there your freaking your self, which is not bad. But who know the person on the other line might not be doing nothing but just laughing at you, when the other party is suppose to be freaking his self too it is really stupid to me i wouldn't do it no more.

When the telcos changed from analog to digital switching, that killed phone phreaking. It dead in USA long time now.
