Hi

I have just bought a speedtouch 585 modem/router, and I'm trying to work out how to set it up for wireless access.

I have set it up to aloow myself to connect to it wirelessly, but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to add my wife's laptop to the wireless access. Couls anybody pout there guide me through the additional wireless client setup? Cheers...

I need some network command that works similar to the famous "ping" instruction, except that it causes all computers on my LAN to send me back echo replies. I do not want to carry out trial and error, trying to ping all possible IPs on my LAN.

My desktop can access the shared files on my laptop, but the laptop can't access the desktops shared files. Both computers are connected wirelessly to my Linksys router.

When I try to access the desktop through "My Network Places" folder, the desktops shared folders don't show up. When I try to use Windows Explorer to access the desktop, I get this error message:

"\\Desktop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."

I have double checked the desktop, and it's entire My Documents Folder properties are listed as shared.

I went through the entire Network Connections Troubleshooter, and it didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

my modem and router are connected correctly. my laptop detects the wireless network and is connected to it, but when i launch iexplorer i get an error message. it's worked before, but it doesn't anymore. does anyone know what could be wrong?

i think my local area connection on my pc is trying to conncect through my neighbor wireless router.how do i get internet through it.it say its been conected but no speed has improved.i dont want to let them find out im doing this my friend done this but he didnt know how ot work.plus they have bellsouth i have netzero.so how can i share with there internet conection through mine.please help

Hope someone out there can help me please.

Recently purchased a Xbox360 wireless network adapter. Plugged it in as instructed and followed the instructions. It confirmed my wireless network, however when it came to confirming the IP address it said "failed".

I have been trying to resolve this for 3 days and getting no-where fast. Checked other websites for help, including the Microsoft support site, which was of no help at all.

My wireless router is a Philips SNB6500, have looked at the settings on this and checked that I am on WEP. When i try to test the settings again on the xbox it asks for a WEP key, enter what was on the router and it still does not work. Have taken the security off the router, as instructed in other sites, and this STILL does not work.

When i first purchased the xbox plugged it in directly to the router and it worked fine, now when i try it...guess what it does not work.
Can anyone help? Please respond it non-techno terms,novice at this. Thanks
