Well, I really want my little sister to be able to the Sims 2 without it working crappy. Now, the game can play on my computer, but the save times take forever aswell as the load times, and sometimes it freezes up so I was wondering if there's anything I should upgrade on my computer that would be better for the game.

Here's my computer's stuff (I'm not a tech person so here's what it says):
System: Microsoft windows XP, Home edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 2.
Computer: Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
2.66 GHz, 512 MB of RAM
Video card: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200

System requirements for The Sims 2:
1300 MHz processor
256 MB RAM
Windows(R) Vista, Windows XP, Windows ME,
8x or faster CD/DVD drive
A T&L-capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM.
Supported video cards:
NVIDIA GeForce series GeForce2 GTS and better (GeForce 6200 or greater required for Vista)

My computer's running on Windows Vista and I have to present a power point tomorrow in my Psychology class. I'm putting the file on a CD-rom and opening it up on the computer in my class. My question is if there are going to be any complications opening my powerpoint that was made on the new version of Microsoft powerpoint onto a computer running on Windows 98... although it may be Windows 2000, I'm not sure.

I got this really annoying Computer virus like a or so ago and I can't get rid of it! I tried Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-aware 2007, CW shredder, A regestry cleaner program, and some online trojan removers, but the virus just won't leave. At first i thought it was virus called openme.exe (a virus that causes similar problems), but it's not. I really don' know how to get rid of this and i really need some help. By the way i also have a mcafee fire wall and virus scan(aol special edtion). Thanks alot to anyone that can help!

Hi.
What are ur opinions on having all ur photo's, files, music etc, from ur computer's hard stored on an external hard drive, for safety.
But then erasing them off ur computer's hard drive, to give ur self more space.
Does any one know how reliable they are, i bought a good make, its a 160 gb W.D

I currently have an anonymous blog troll on my LiveJournal account who keeps leaving anonymous comments. Thankfully, the filter catches/automatically screens these comments first and LJ's IP logger is on.

I just noticed that all these comments are from the same IP address.

I tried using IP Geolocation tools that are available on the internet, trying my own IP address first to gauge its accuracy, but everything seems to be completely off.

Does anyone know of anything more accurate? And what do you think I can or should do with the annoying anonymous troll?

I'm getting Photoshop Elements 6.0 for Christmas, my parents already bought it for me. It's pretty new, and people probably know the previous version, 5, better. Anyways, I'm an artist, drawing as a hobby, and I want to know if this is good for digital art. My computer crashed yesterday and I used system restore to fix the issue. The problem was that this being my entertainment computer, ALL of my files are gone, as are the programs, I am going to reinstall itunes, but the fear I have is that the very rare songs I have on my ipod now, will vanish the second I connect it to the reinstalled itunes and I will have to really start all over. What can I do to prevent this, or am I fearing over nothing.

My D-LINK router used to work fine with my DSL. I recently switched to Cable. I can access 192.168.0.1 site and also ping the router. The connection says that it is connected but I just cant get onto the internet. I tried power cycling and also upgrading the firm ware. Still no luck.

Now I switched back to DSL. I can access internet through the router. However, this connection gets disconnected after every 2 hrs or so. I then have to reset and restart all over again.

what am I missing here? Do I need to set /change anything?
Why would'nt it work with Cable? Why would it lose connection every couple of hours with DSL?

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and i was hoping to upgrade the graphics. Would a ATI RADEON X1300 work with my computer seeing as my computer is PCI only. And if so could somebody send me a link to one that will definitely work? Thank you

When I access the internet it will only let me on for a few minutes and then it stops. It is a wireless connection, but even when i hook it up via a land connection, it does the same thing. It will work for about ten minutes and then stop. Is there a setting on my computer that wil do this to my computer or is it a hardware problem.

I am getting hacked over and over, I heard that changing the IP address can put an end to that. I tried to change the IP, but I don't know how to. I just want it to be a different number; (resetting would work). My internet is high speed, LAN and it's cable, the OS is Windows Vista Home Premium Edition.

I had limewire pro but deleted it because it stopped connecting. I would leave it or hours..and nothing! So I downloaded and installed the normal one and its doin the same thing. See where I'm going? Okay so here's the deal. I'm trying to hack into my own system using linux so I can figure out the weaknesses & resolve them. Only problem is I've never hacked before. I'm reading a book that tells me the basics, so using nmap I scanned my router & found port 443 open. The book tells me once I find an open port, I should telnet into it. I've used telnet, so that's no big deal. I open telnet, type "open 192.168.0.101 443" and here's what I get:

Trying 192.168.0.101...
Connected to 192.168.0.101.
Escape character is '^]'.

But then nothing. No login, no response from the computer at all. I'm at a loss, so I start guessing. I type "ls" and get nothing. I type "list" and get nothing. Then I type "ftp" and it responds

Connection closed by foreign host.

Then it boots me back to the root terminal. My question is this.. once I have the initial connection, WTF do I do to penetrate/exploit?

i have a hp compaq nx6110 laptop and im putting in the max amount of memory that you can put in, but is there more i can do? like hard drive and processor and vgraphics cards and stuff? like can i buy all the parts and give it to geek squad or something and have them install all this for me?
