Hello,

Yes you can upgrade your lap top but...depending on how old it is it will still not be as fast or as good as you want it. The video and sound card are more then likely built on the motherboard so the only way to upgrade that is to replace the motherboard. Remember when doing that you have to have the exact motherboard or it will not fit in the case.

Processor, RAM, CPU those can be upgraded and yes Geek Squad can install them but also something to consider..you will have to pay per item being installed.

Pretty much it might be cheaper replacing the laptop then it is upgrading it.

But that is my opinion

Harddrive upgrades are possible, CPU upgrades may be possible but your options could be rather limited, but the video card is not likely upgradable.

On my Toshiba replacing the harddrive was not very hard, basically just a bunch of screws to remove and replace after swapping drives. And then using the restore CD to reinstall Windows. Laptops normally use 2.5" harddrives, but they can be either PATA/IDE or SATA. The two are not compatible with eachother. One piece of advice I was given was to get one with the same RPM speed as my original drive due to heat concerns. But I went from a 40GB to a 100GB drive which was nice.

not frequently. some laptops (frequently "laptop substitute" laptops) have pics enjoying cards that are socketed, like laptop enjoying cards. yet maximum laptops, so as to get thinner, the two have not got any room for a dedicated card in any respect or have the dedicated card soldered directly to the motherboard, so which you won't be able to do away with it without unfavorable the motherboard. In the two case, you is unquestionably not upgrading the pics without changing the motherboard and processor too.

The hard drive is pretty easy to replace and the processor might be socketed and thus upgradeable but you won't be upgrading the graphics (especially if you've got crappy Intel integrated junk).
