Is Photoshop Elements 6.0 or 5.0 a good program for an artist?

I'm getting Photoshop Elements 6.0 for Christmas, my parents already bought it for me. It's pretty new, and people probably know the previous version, 5, better. Anyways, I'm an artist, drawing as a hobby, and I want to know if this is good for digital art. (Like if it has the tools like Layers, Opacity, different brushes, etc) Comments are greatly appreciated.

Elements 6 is a good program with all the tools you mention. The full version of Photoshop does have more features but Elements is an excellent digital image editing package given the price difference. You may never need anything else.
