i have a bunch of different video clips saved on my laptop and i would like to play them on a larger screen. can i connect it to a VCR or TV screen? and if i can ... how?

Your laptop might have a TV out socket somewhere that will allow you to connect it to a TV (though of course with TV quality which is crap but still good enough for playing video clips).

An S-Video cable should do the job (you might already have one lying around somewhere or you can buy one from pretty much anywhere that sells audio-visual cables (just don't buy the overpriced monster cable crap that's no better than a decently made cheaper cable)).

Looking on the Dell web site the S-Video connector is a black connector on the back of the computer, just between two USB ports and the Ethernet port. There should be a similar port somewhere on the TV.

Look for a Yellow RCA connector on the back of the PC - If not, there will be a circular connector saying COMPOSITE OUT.
You might need to buy an adapter so you can connect this to your TV set.

yes. using cable to connect from your laptop's VGA port to the VCR or TV input port. if the port of the VCR or TV input are not same as the VGA port on your laptop. then u have to use some port convector to make sure they are same.
