It takes almost 30 seconds to go from one e-mail to the next or even to delete one. I just defragmented my computer and it has 73% free space. This slowness has just recently happened, so I don't know if I accidently did something to make this happen. I have no clue as to what my next step might be to try. As you can see I'm not very computer literate. I would appreciate any detailed step by step answers. I have a Dell that's about 2 years old with Windows XP. Thanks.

I have two computers at home in the same room that I want connected to the internet, but not simultaneously. I want it where I can switch connections between computers, instead of having them both connected at the same time.

Currently, when I want to switch between computers, I have to unplug one from the cable modem, and plug the other into it. I want to be able to do this at the push of a button instead.

I caught a virus that turns out, has no fix yet. The guy I took it to says he's seeing more and more of it and that so far, he does't know of any fix for it but to back up your files and restore your hard drive (I guess it'll get rid of the virus along with everything else). It's a virus that locks you out of your control panel so you don't have access to any of your settings. Now, he'll charge me $200 to do this. He told me it's something I can do myself, but I don't know how. Anyone know where I can get step by step instructions on how to do this? I can't afford the charge and really can't be without my computer.

All it takes is just creating webpages and selling them..I can do that. So why take the time to get my degree when I can just get right to it?

Do I need to uninstall Norton first, before installing a free program?

Is it worth it just to buy a protection service?
