You can do this with Outlook Express. Simply compose a message and from the tools menu, choose Request Read Receipt

If you use Microsoft Outlook or Express as an email client, in the Options menu there is an option to request a receipt. When the person opens the email it will prompt them to send a receipt. You will then recieve an email saying that the person has read the email. There are other ways to find if a person has read an email. Just google "email request a receipt" Hope this helps

Well, this is definitely possible if you are using Microsoft Outlook.

When you send an email, you can request a Read Receipt, and/or a Delivery Receipt. You can do this for individual emails, or for all your emails.

The instructions (as given the web page provided below)apply to Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003.

All accounts / email service providers worth their salt provide "read recipts", that get triggered when the person opens your email. Check out on your email service provider
