When I try to go on my powerpoint vierwer it dosent work. This box comes up says open the file .Also my ppviewer is a little box with a little blue box in the middle of it. I think thats the promblem.

Why are folders in my library (along the left hand side of the screen) sometimes 'highlighted' ?? What does that mean ??
Also, why do some folders have a "save changes #" icon on them, when i have NOT done anything to those particular folders.
I suspected the highlighting mentioned above was a clue that there were changes to be saved.............but, that is not true.
They do no coincide. And when, i say o.k., save the changes, I have no idea what has happened.......I see no changes occurring. Help!!

Hello,
I read on the internet and on here some of the answers, about using Acronis to do this.

but. im still not sure about how to do it.
I have 28GB that I need to move to the second hard drive, and I need it to stay untouched, as in programs, files, everything AS IS, registry and all.

so what if I create a 28GB image, that wouldn't really help me would it?...

can I do this:
1) create the 28GB image
2) connect the 2nd hard drive
3) install the 28GB image to the second hard drive using WinXP from the first hard drive (this should also take the registry with it right?)
4) remove the first hard drive and boot from second.

I already unlocked the toolbar; I already tried to align by dragging cursor once the arrows appear; I also did a system restore to before problem occurred. I managed to move the toolbar (including the start icon) from vertical right display to horizontal top of screen displaybut can't put it back across the bottom.

I upgraded the bios on my dell 4700c from A02 to latest version A07 and now I'm getting a Incompatible Processor Detected error and the system does not boot. Is there a way to downgrade the bios?


As soon as the computer is turned on the Incompatible Processor Detected error screen comes up and does not give me a chance to boot into the bios.

The cpu is a P4 - 3.4GHZ

Windows Vista and Mac OS Leopard are both the new exciting OS's from Microsoft and Apple. I am a PC user and after seeing Vista on my friends new laptops and how they liked it, I played around with it and immediatly went to the local Best Buy to purchase a laptop with Vista Premium. After having it for a month, I must say I absolutly love it. I was skeptic about it at first due to multiple reviews from people who tried it and didn't like it and stayed with XP. I thought I wouldn't like it either but I was wrong. I enjoy using it everyday. It does everything I want it to do and runs all my software. I wish I made the switch when it first came out unstead of staying with XP.

Well recently I have played around with my friends Mac Leopard desktop and I must say it's interesting but just...different. I think it looks nice but I was not to facinated with it as I was with Vista. Personally I wouldn't switch to or buy mac but it's okay. I prefer Windows Vista because I think it's better.

I installed8600 gt to my acerast180,workedgreatall daywithseveral bootups.Then hardwaredevice kickedon then toldme to restart.After that the power button has no light & only lthe fans work.Was I suppost do anything in the bios to make it work?I also installed 585w psu 3weeks ago and it was working well.I also disabled intergrated before I installed the card.I got a black sceen with no signal.What happened?? Work good all day untill hard ware dive kicked on then asked me to restart.Thankyou for your time.

[1] I've read that XP media center can access max 3.25 GB. *IF* this is true, I'd like to upgrade to XP Professional x64 which, again, I'm told can handle it.
[2] Is this easy to do? (Or is 64 bits a hassle & incompatible?)
[3] I'm using XP rather than Vista as I read Google has a dispute with Windows over desktop searching. I must have varied desktop searching & don't want to risk being locked into microsoft - but again this may be an unjustified fear.

reinstall windows all over again but, by accident I installed windows on the wrong drive by accident. Drive H has too little space, so now windows can't update properly cause of that, Is there a way I can put windows on drive C without going through the whole process of reformatting again?

Avg recently alerted me to two trojans. One called downloader.Generic6.sjk with the path C:\program files\WinBudget\bin\matrix.dll and the other Generic6.AARY with the path C:\system volume information\_restore followed by a long series of numbers.

What should I do? And how can I uninstall WinBudget?

Note Spybot is run on the computer frequently

Bought an mp3 philips player today, conected to do sync, it looked fine, then i ''upgraded firmware'' as in was directed in the setup leaflet, the mp3 wrote ''upgrading firmware'' then my setup said i unplug it from the pc to complete, i did that, and then nothing, just blank and dead, the device is no longer recognised by windows

i tried to delete/reinstall usb drivers, reboot, nothing..

i connected the cable to another usb device, a card reader, and that works fine!

where is the problem? is it in windows or in the device, it doesnt appear to be in the cable:/

On Tuesday my yahoo mail would not let me compose an email it kept saying something about add ons and that adobe flash was messing things up....or something..... So I clicked on the "add ons" box that popped up and disabled the adobe flash. Well now I can not view slideshows on websites. I guess I need to go back into that add ons box and enable the adobe flash but I dont know how to find that box because before it just popped up because there was a problem.

We have high speed internet with Comcast, but when the man installed it, he told me that I could get a wireless connection through our internet. So I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could get this connection. My laptop came with a wireless card built in it already, so it's just a matter of creating a connection.
