When I try to go on my powerpoint vierwer it dosent work. This box comes up says open the file .Also my ppviewer is a little box with a little blue box in the middle of it. I think thats the promblem.

Powerpoint Viewer is only a tool to be able to open and look at powerpoint slideshows. It does not provide the ability to create or edit. For this you would need either the full version of Powerpoint or download Open Office which as a product similar to Powerpoint called Impress.

If you are trying to open a new format file created by Powerpoint2007, you would need the new viewer. It is located at the webpage below:

You may need to go to the Microsoft Updates website and search the downloads for a new PowerPoint Viewer and download it. I've found that some powerpoint presentations which I receive in emails have to be saved to my desktop and opened from there for them to work. Also, there's apparently a PowerPoint viewer that's only a year or so old that is necessary for some of the new files.

Hi,
The viewer only lets you view. You can't "work on" presentations with the viewer.
As was already pointed out, you need PowerPoint or a program that can work with PowerPoint files.
