Windows Vista and Mac OS Leopard are both the new exciting OS's from Microsoft and Apple. I am a PC user and after seeing Vista on my friends new laptops and how they liked it, I played around with it and immediatly went to the local Best Buy to purchase a laptop with Vista Premium. After having it for a month, I must say I absolutly love it. I was skeptic about it at first due to multiple reviews from people who tried it and didn't like it and stayed with XP. I thought I wouldn't like it either but I was wrong. I enjoy using it everyday. It does everything I want it to do and runs all my software. I wish I made the switch when it first came out unstead of staying with XP.
Well recently I have played around with my friends Mac Leopard desktop and I must say it's interesting but just...different. I think it looks nice but I was not to facinated with it as I was with Vista. Personally I wouldn't switch to or buy mac but it's okay. I prefer Windows Vista because I think it's better.

I must agree with you, Vista is quite lovely, Im tired of PC vs Mac though. Honestly PC's are for experienced users, if you manage your resources, and pay for protection then virus's arnt a problem.
The Truth is, Mac dont get virus's because no one bother's to make virus's for computers that only consume around 10% of the population. Mac's also dont allow for much personal upgrades, it's like a console pretty much, you do what the Mac lets you do. The Mac controls you.
Pc's can catch virus's, they are also weak in the hands of a novice user. my network professor calls error's related to novice's ID-10-T errors. If your experienced, then your PC will exceed quality of that of a Mac.
that being said i do intend to purchase a mac for experimental purposes. but for now my heart is with Window's.
PS. that fellow who took the "graduate level" research should know that linux created their Interface from Windows. So im confused as to where he is going with his statement.

I think MAC OS is better, one likes windows just becauses he is used to of its interface .. if you are used to of MAC you will definately like it.
Anyhow, I myself have done a research at Graduate level and found out that Linux was better in interface than Windows, subjects were the students who do not know windows and Linux.
As far as I can guess you are not a tech-savvy user, so viruses must be a big problem for you, I will still suggest to go for MAC OS. It's safer too.

I'm so tired of the Mac vs. PC debate. Personally, I have both, and they both perform well depending on what I'm doing. If you're into doing anything in the creative arts field, i.e. graphic design, music, etc, then most I know, including myself use a Mac. They're just better suited for that sort of thing. It really depends on what you use your machine for.
I adore my Mac for the ease of use, the lack of crap that comes bundled on it (Windows machines are awful for that, IMO) and the lack of constant crashes/glitches. That's just my personal experience. However, there certainly is a lot more software out there that's PC compatible and not so for Macs. It's gotten a lot better though.

Well im not particularly taken with either, but it sounds very much to me as though youve drawn a conclusion before asking the question.
I am a Linux user Ubuntu 7.10 and the graphics stuff MAC and Vista out of sight.
Oh and I almost forgot to mention its FREE !

Why do u even wont to talk about it. Of course mac OS is the best ever with HFS+ file system. Why..? Ive seen how ugly vista gets.. trust me.!

VIsta, (personally i say XP still), In my opinion Macs are only good for graphic/movie design and such, whihc you can still do on Windows

neither one, the rule of thumb when a new o.s. comes out wait till they get the second version out, because there are so many bugs programmers miss in the first release. I stay with XP until they come out with a second edition of vista
