Avg recently alerted me to two trojans. One called downloader.Generic6.sjk with the path C:\program files\WinBudget\bin\matrix.dll and the other Generic6.AARY with the path C:\system volume information\_restore followed by a long series of numbers.

What should I do? And how can I uninstall WinBudget?

Note Spybot is run on the computer frequently

Glad to see AVG is doing it's job...

Go to control Panel>Add/Remove Programs-
find the entry 'WinBudget' and remove it.

Then-
From the browser menu,
go to Tools>Internet Options>Browsing history>delete button>
then delete your Temporary Internet Files and your Cookies.

Now-
Turn off your System Restore- (will turn it back on when clean)
Go to Control Panel>double click-System>click "System Restore tab and check the box "Turn off System restore on all drives" and then hit the "Apply" button and OK.

Now,
Download and install these anti-spyware programs:
Immediately scan with #1-

Always click the button to UPDATE before starting the scan.
Remove (Quarantine) all items they find.

1. SuperAntispyware here:
http://www.superantispyware.com...

2. Ad-Aware 2007 here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_awar...

SpyBot which you already have, is a great complimentary program to Ad-Aware 2007 when used in tandem (run one after the other)-
---
Next-
Reboot computer-
Turn System Restore back on- Simply remove the checkmark (previously checked in the above instruction) and click Apply.

*AVG probably has Matrix.dll in it's quarantine 'Virus Vault' , at any rate, the scan with superantispyware should pick it up and take care of it (if it is still there), along with the add/remove performed above.

*The other file is in System_Restore and is taken care of with the restore shutdown and reboot procedure.

Hope this helps.

Use protection,
your computer will thank you.

Your antivirus should have the ability to quarantine and/or remove the virus. That is what you want to do. If not, download or buy a anti-virus product that can do that. At a bare minimum delete the files and empty them from the recycle bin.
Uninstall winbudget - Check to see in the start menu if it has a uninstall option. If so choose it. If not, go to start, control panel, add remove programs to remove it. If none of those work delete the files in c:\program files (or wherever it is stored on your machine). You also should delete the registry files, however I'm not going to tell you how, because you'll probably cause more damage to your pc than it is worth...

You can run the free online virus scanner from karpersky, Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detections.

Cost you nothing. Just open the link below and follows the instructions to run the online scanner from the server direct from Karpersky Labs., Russia.

Depending on how many files/folders you have in your system, it can take one hour or more. Complete the scan has it will kill any virus found during the scan. Then I recommend you reboot your pc and you should be fine.
