After my primary hard drive failed on me, I decided to put the slave as the primary. However, when winxp goes to setup for installation for some reason it does not recognize my hard disk. My IDE controller picks up the hard drive just fine. It is a seagate 200gb hard drive and I noticed I had no jumper pin on the back. I tried a western digital one with no results.

Has anyone been sent files over MSN instant messenger saying, "Oh accept this, it's really funny...", "Here's some pictures" etc recently? If so, does anybody know what they are? I've declined the files cause I don't want to risk it, but just wondering if anybody actually knows what these files are.

I am trying to print a page that I have completed that has a border around the page, but every time I go to print it, it says something about the margins being set outside the page so when its printed I dont get the bottom line of my border. I have looked at so many websites on it and done what they have sed like change the distance of the border from the side of the page but it still cuts off and I dunno what else to do. any other ideas ppl.Im sooooooooo stressed with it cos it was fine y'day now its turned on my 2day :(

ok my windows copy is all messed up and infested. i tried a few days to fix it, but no luck. i want to cut my losses and format the drive, and put a fresh copy windows on it. but i have another hard drive that doesnt have any programs on it, but contains about 3000 pictures, and about as many songs. i cant loose these. if i format the C:\ will i loose these files as well? i recall doing this awile back, and i lost everything on every drive because windows made me reformat all drives to use them. if i use a program like true image to backup the stuff and burn it to DVD can i save it if i have to format the drive? what should i do?

Im upgrading my processor and what is the diffrence between

Intel Dual-Core E2140 and the
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300


with the expection of the 50 dollar price diffrence. Will it be worth it to pay the other 50 dollars and get the core 2?

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and have a Dell Latitude D610 on a docking station with a dual monitor. The laptop is the primary monitor (on the right) and the 19" flat panel monitor is on the left. Everything works fine with one minor exception. When I undock the laptop and use it, then re-dock it, the settings revert to the second monitor being on the right (instead of the left). So I have to go in to Display Properties --> Settings and change it back every single time. Is there a way I can make the laptop save the location of the second monitor? Thanks.

My computer is old and I fear that it could crash at anytime. Therefore, I would like to find a way to store a copy of my hard drive. I'm not savvy enough with computers to figure out a way to save a copy myself. I'm sure there must be companies out there that offer "back-up" service. The thing is that i have an Access data base with Names, phone number, Email adress and so on.
Some People have few Emails adresses, and i dont want to strech the email field because most of the people have only one.
So what i have is that with the people that have few emails, i can only see one email and maybe a little bit of the next
What i want to do is that in those cases of multiple emails, the lines will go down, so those person data will be infront of my eyes and they will have two or three rows, so i dont have to strech the field
what i basically want is to press enter and that the line will go down..
how do i get that?

by running an adware away scan (scan only), i got a report of 7 objects in categories such as system restriction, IE UrlSearchHook,IE Url BHO & Toolbar, and Notify Dlls. i'm looking for some free software to remove this infection. the webpage http://nsl-school.org is my home page now(it used to be yahoo.com). i contracted this infection by accidentally clicking on a link that i received through yahoo messenger. this infection in its initial stages used to send out harmful links to all my contacts on yahoo messenger. ppppppppplllllllls HELP!

Alright, all of a sudden my printer wont work! It says the spooler service isnt running,and when i uninstalled it and tryed to install it again, it said that same thing. Then it says.
There is a problem installing this hardware.

i've alredy installed Kas-7 Anti-virus guard in my PC. there is a error message which displays every 2-3 minutes "YOUR KEY HAS BEEN BLACKLISTED UPDATE OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE " this has become a real headache for me. can some one help me to get rid of it. can anyone give me the key to stop this message so that i can download updates through INTERNET.
i didn't purchase the product insted i have downloaded it from the free software site on the internet with keys , product is working and the problem is updates and message box..

Does this just mean I have wireless capability? Or does this mean if I am in a non-wifi area that I can use my phone company for my internet connection?

I ask this because I received a mass e-mail from my work explaining that everyone on it received an AT and T Wireless internet card, and if you aren't using it to please send it back. I'm confused. Is this thing built in?

my paypal account has been locked, I don't know exactly why although I have not used it for some time.

From what I can gather from speaking to them today (@ £1.50 per minute!!!!) is that they require me to fax them a copy of my passport, drivers license and a utility bill???

I was quite cross as I do not have a fax machine at home and cannot believe they ask people to do this! They can verify who I am via my bank surely??

Has anyone else been asked to provide this info to Paypal?

I only want to start selling on eBay again!
