Sometimes (but not always) for us it has worked to go to File and Page Setup and by golly FORCE the margins on all sides small enough to allow the borders to show!!! Then get a print preview and make sure they show then when the message comes up and says the margins are set up outside the page say you DON'T want to fix them!

...oh and remember to reset them next time you edit a NORMAL document, as Word holds on to your Page Setup due to plain persnicketyness

Page borders can be a nuisance so I always use a table and set it as a template. If you are using A4 page 21cm x 29.7 cm and 2.5cm margins all round, your typing area will be 16 x 24.7. Create a 1 row 1 column table and go into properties and make the row height 24 cm and make sure you set it as Exactly, not At least. You dont need to change width as a table automatically fits to margins. Set this as a template and voila, you have a page with border.

format>borders and shading>options(on the right side closer to the bottom)>in ht edorpdown meny of MEASURE FROM click TEXT> now clik ok and get out of the dialog box>print preview(borders will be closer to text> go back to the above where the measure from drop down menu is> change the points from and make them bigger about 30 or so> print preview. it should look fine like a page border, if u want it more farther make the points bigger i hope it help, don't mess with margins like the others are saying that doen't help at all. so good luck. let me know if it works

I don't know what you've tried.

Check your page setup (File - > page setup).

All your margins should be well within the border, probably 2cm. Your header and footer margins should also be within the border. Probably 1.5cm.

Now check Layout -> Borders -> Page border -> options. The bortder should be around 24pt from the edge of the page.

hth.

It's tough to answer this without knowing which printer you're using but I can offer a generic solution.

In the Print dialog box, click the button that says, "Properties" or equivalent.

Look in all tabs that appear in the subsequent dialog box for an option that says "Fit to Page" or "Scale to Page" or equivalent. Check that option (click it).

OK your way out and print.

That should do it.
