I want to email some photo's to a friend and would like to be able to reduce the size (currently 40mb). Anyone know of any software i can download that would also enable my friend to uncompress the file as well? Thanks in advance.

Most image files in GIF or JPG do not compress any further with compression software. Those files are already compressed. Winzip will not decrease the size of those files.

Either WinZip or Winrar should the trick. You can download a "free" trial of either from their respective web sites. After you have one of them installed, just click on the folder or file that you want to send to send and choose "Compress and e-mail".
