a .trn file overall is not a file that really can be opened except if it contains a MKS project on it, in that case you open it with MKS Business Integrity program, otherwise it is just a translation file for the windows registry or a phone system.
Also , clarion has a spreadsheet program called Quattro Pro it might be used for that.
this is a summary of what .trn file is used for:
1) MKS Source Integrity(a business management program)
2) Translation [Windows] (a system file that is used to translate in multiple windows programs)
3) Spreadsheet file [Quattro/Clarion] ( A spread sheet file)your best bet

A quick search came up with two answer. One is a translation support file for Quattro Pro (Corel's spread sheet program).
The other is for MKS Source Integrity project usage log file.
