I already know if you press FN and f7 and f8 adjusts the colour brightness but what I really want to know is how do you adjust the contrast because I can't actually see the boxes I'm writing in. Remember the contrats not the brightness I need to change.

Well I allready installed the RAM into my computer. I added a gig awhile ago, but today just opened up my case and looked at the other RAM stick that came pre-installed in my eMachines, and it says it's 512 MB on the stick. Great.... but on my computer (before I added the gig) it said I had 382 MB of RAM. Also, now after I installed the gig it says that I have 1.4 GB of RAM, and if the one installed has 512 MB, wouldn't it be 1.5? What made it 328 MB?

I'm sending my laptop off to get fixed. The copmany I'm sending it to said your probaly going to lose all the files on your laptop. My question is how do I save all the files on the laptop before I send it off ? A friend said you can save them to a CD, but I have no idea how. Can anyone tell me how to do this.

Well my mom said that while she was on this computer something popped up about spyware and she clicked it off because she knows about nothing about spyware and stuff. I do recall opening these e-mails from Coca-Cola saying I won $500,000 but it really wasn't from Coca-Cola just someone trying to be Coca-Cola. And from Shell Corp. [The gas station] saying something about family member dieing in a plane crash. SO HERES A WARNING TO PEOPLE: DON'T OPEN ANY OF THOSE E-MAILS THEIR SPYWARE LIKE I GOT!

But How do I get it off? Please, I need help. What does spyware on your computer do to your computer and how can I get it off? I don't go on and bad websites (I'm only ten). So I don't know.

My computer turns off automatically when you leave it on for hours. Before it turns off, I smell something burning (mild smell), then after a couple of minutes, it turns off by itself.

Then, when it's shut down, and I press the "on" button, nothing happens. I have to pull the plug off the socket, put it back on, pull the plug, put it back on, until it finally turns on again.

Why does this happen lately? It didn't happen before, and it's even turned on longer.

Even if I copied all the songs from my LImewire Library to a different folder, and I open my iTunes and try to play my song, it won't play!
It says they can't locate the songs! How could I stop this from happening?? I've lost 400 songs!

I reinstalled XP on my laptop cause i was having problems, now the Ethernet drive, Audio, Network, Modem, and Video drives dont work. The wireless dont even work. I have tried to reinstall XP again thinking it would help but still the same thing. So please if you can help me i could really really use it.. I need my laptop for college and i cant use it anymore.. Please help me!

I have this monitor with my PS3

I have A Sony VAIO PCV RX540 I got from a friend for free! It has a 1.2 Ghz Intel Celeron processor with 512 mb ram, 64 mb DVI TV tuner card, Really slow DVD burner, and a CD RW drive. There is a 20 gb hard drive with Windows XP home SP2 on it. It was made in 2001. Is this a good computer where all I have to do is upgrade the DVD burner , Hard Drive and reinstall the operating system? Or should I ditch this one and get a new one. All I want to use this computer for is basic Internet browsing, word processing and light gaming (older less good video games). Please help!

I have windows 98. My quick launch icons dont appear and i cant get then back- even tried properties. When I go to display properties, its different and messed up. When I double click on my computer, and then go to file, it wont let me go to properties. When i even click the properties icon, nothing happens. Also, after this happened, i downlaoded a registry booster for win98 and when i double click it- it says: This program cannot be installed on a Server edition of Windows. Nothing has ever been wrong when i download stuff. Any1 know wat is wrong and/or how to fix this?
