I reinstalled windows on my laptop and now i am having problems..?

Question

I reinstalled XP on my laptop cause i was having problems, now the Ethernet drive, Audio, Network, Modem, and Video drives dont work. The wireless dont even work. I have tried to reinstall XP again thinking it would help but still the same thing. So please if you can help me i could really really use it.. I need my laptop for college and i cant use it anymore.. Please help me!

the drivers probably are not installed on that laptop, drivers need to get installed independently from the Windows XP installation, the computer manufacturer should have a download page on their website to download the drivers for the computer. probably you will need to download the network Ethernet drivers from another computer to be able to go to the internet on that laptop and install the rest of the drivers. good luck man

well for starters, you didn't use the recovery disk that should have came with the system. this had all the drivers you are missing. if the computer is only a couple years old, there would have been a 2nd partition on the drive with the complete OS. your only option is to get all the drivers and software you need from the manufacturers web site. being you have XP and it didn't load the drivers means that the laptop is newer than XP and hopefully it didn't come with Vista on it and you tried to put XP on it. this doesn't work. you'll have to download and copy all drivers and software you need onto a cd and then put them into your laptop. if by chance you can get internet access on the laptop, then you can download all that you need onto it with out having to save to a disk. goto the manurfactures site for all your info.

Figure out what all the stuff is called. Like the ethernet card name. Go to the manufactuers website and download the drivers from another computer. Burn them to a cd and then bring them over and install them on the laptop?

You have to install drivers for your hardware devices because the XP OS was probably made before your devices even existed so, of course, it wont have drivers for them. Use a friends puter and find and download the drivers you need and burn them onto a CD and use it to install them on your machine. Look thru your CDs and see if you have, at least, drivers for whatever you need to basically get online to get the rest of the drivers.
