When I start XP a messagebox says The requested control is not valid for this service, also if the screen dosent freeze it can look like colored curtains blocking everything. If I survive about 5mins all will continue as normal. Any ideas (no virus known)??

Pop up comes from "Registry Cleaner" and wont stop asking me to download and install. When i've tried my spy ware blocks it so I know its not good and yet it still wont stop asking.

i uninstalled macafee then installed avg coz my macafee was outdated and then i came across avg. they said avg reliable and free so i installed avg. after unistalling macafee, my firewall was switched off. then i went to security center tried to switch on it said due to unidentified problem it cannot be switched on. now i don have a firewall. is it bcoz i installed avg or is it a virus that has disabled firewall? also i am typing this question juz after i have done this process. is it bcoz i have not restarted my com yet? plz help!!!!!!!!!

I moved into my apartment and was bummed i didnt have internet. i opened my macbook and voila! i have free wireless =D .but sometimes it wont work anymore (linksys). it will work for a few days or few hours than will quit for a few days or few hours. how can i keep it connected?

I want to you know your opinion on The "new" Windows operating system Windows Vista...

Personally I think its a load of crap... It is the most pathetic piece of programming (well from what I have heard...)

It looks nice, although so does Mac's OSX 10.4... And OSX 10.5 in my opinion looks better than Vista!

my internet has a very very weak signal all the time around open wireless networks like on my college campus, and the library..i cant even pick up the signal anymore at my house at all, or even see other peoples signals...however, i pick up a signal when i wake up and right b4 i sleep...what do you think the problem is? it just started happening! will applecare cover it?

I know nothing about computers, I just email and blog. I have a computer windows xp, 40 GB hard drive, floppy dirve, soundcard, network card, 128 MB RAm, 500 MHZ, P3 Processor, CD Rom, how much is a decent price to ask for this computer. Compared to Unix, Mac and other operating systems, Microsoft seems to be the most vulnerable to spyware, virus, etc...

Is it because hackers prefer to put energy on attacking a more propagated OS?

Is it because hackers hate Microsoft?
