Im attempting to make some digital art through the combination of photos. I want to make one or several images, TRANSPARENT and very light in features...Adobe Photoshop..will appreciate any/ all tips !

Double-click on the layer. Blending Options on the right. Set the percentage to whatever you want. Note: This affects the whole layer.

Alternative shortcut: Hit the number key at the top of the keyboard representing the percentage of the layer to show. 1 = 10%, 4 = 40%, 9 = 90%...

If your intent is to fade two or more images into one, than you have to work with layers masks. A mask is a greyscale layer linked to the image below. Black color will let the image below shine through while white will hide it. Shades of grey will be more or less transparent. But better than me these tutorials will teach you about masks:

try using paint.net its much better than photoshop and you don't have to pay but it is a little more complicated...
