Dell was going to send me one but then sent me an e-mail saying that they could not because ME had be discontinued...The computer had XP running on it but originaly camr with ME...Id relly like to put XP back on it but I don't want to have to buy a copy for the old 8 years old computer....any suggestions????

Windows ME is no longer supported by MS so it would not be a good idea to do that my friend, you'll be wide open to security attacks. I would install VectorLinux SOHO instead, it's very simply to install and looks great. In addition the performance gain you'll see over ME will blow your mind. I just installed it on a 233mmx system I had in my attic to test it and believe it or not it runs great!

You don't have much choice.
You can either buy a copy of XP or use the Original Install disc from Dell or you can use it for a Boat Anchor.
