Window Defender and Spybot didn't pick these up,is it because they see them as no threat yet AVG anti-spyware found them as a threat?

The motherboard says this:

* Form Factor
ATX footprint (12" x 9.6"); Stacked USB ports
One 20-pin ATX power connector
Stacked keyboard and mouse ports
One serial and one VGA port
Two RJ-45 LAN ports with LED

And the case says it can handle these :
AT, ATX & Micro ATX

So i guess what im asking is.. Can the case that says it can handle ATX handle somtheing that says it has an "ATX footprint"?

Here they are if you wanna look at them

Computer won't do anything. I checked cables. everything. I saw a little "fuse" or something that was blown on the motherboard so obviously that's the problem. I took the hard drive out of the computer and now i'm wondering what to do to recover the data. It's a serial ata hard drive and it runs win xp pro. my brother has a new computer that runs vista.... could i use that computer?. will the hard drive show the data and work?. should i install the hard drive on another xp computer?... what are the steps to take to recover that data from the hard drive?... MY WHOLE LIFE IS IN THERE.. .. i know i should have had a backup... but some people don't learn... please help i don't want to loose all my important data...i promise i would buy a backup drive right now!!!!

Have been trying to use the site for days, and getting the overloaded message. Out of curiousity, how many concurrent users can sites like this typically support, at launch and general run times? Know theres lots of other scalability factors, just curious on a ballpark.

Hello, my pc is several years old and takes about 5-10 minutes to turn on. It gets stuck forever on the gateway screen, it makes me push enter on my login (even though there is only one user name and i don't have a password) and then it sits with the blue background for two more minutes before the desktop icons pop up.

Things I have done that haven't helped:
-defragmented
-deleted all unnecessary files (I have almost 90% of my harddrive free!)
-gone into the msconfig and made it so that almost nothing starts at the startup
-run virus scans, ad-aware, and anti-spyware

Any suggestions?
Will a registry cleaner help me? There are a couple of files that are on msconfig that I didn't touch because I don't know what they are...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

I thought i fried my motherboard, but then when i plugged it in today, to check if i had everything plugged in right, it spun up the drives, and then i got a beep code.... 1-3-3-1.. autosize DRAM i looked it up... and i said that my memory was mis matched... i checked it, and it was so i pulled the non-OEM stick and plugged it back in. It started to boot as soon as i plugged it in and there was no beep codes, and nothing on the monitor.

Components:
Cognac 10993 Motherboard
Voodoo 2 Video accelerator [SLI]
OEM Seagate 8 GB HDD
OEM FD Drive
Generic 52X CD drive
Maxtor 32 GB Harddrive [as slave, same channel as CD drive]
Intel Celeron processor 466Mhz [socket 370]
umm...if you want to know anything else, let me know

Help please. I really like this PC and if it isn't dead, i don't want to have to buy a new motherboard

So... I have an Earthlink cable modem. Recently I added a buffalo 802.11g router so I could work from home using my business laptop. No problems there. I plugged in the router and had no problems accessing the net from my desktop PC and my laptop had no problems finding the wireless connection and using VPN to access get to my work account.

So... the next step was to dust off that old laptop with win98-se sitting in the corner and get it set up for the kids to use. I installed an 802.11g PC card. It seems to find my router and get a valid connection. However, I don't seem to be able to see the outside world. For example, I can't open an external web page.

Any clues as to what might be the problem?

My PC (XP Pro) was given to me by an organisation which doesn't exist any more. The PC had been part of a network and I had to use LockSmith to login for the first time. It now thinks that I am the administrator of that PC but not the network admin so I can't do certain things. For instance, I can't connect it to my home network nor can I remove some programmes.

Is there any thing I can do?
