I had a computer who's power supply went out on me. I have all my files and everything on this computer and need access to them. I was wondering if there is some sort of way to connect my hard drive to a usb port? (What are the odds that the hard drive got erased?) I looked on Newegg and came up with this:

Hey, I have a thermal barcode printer - and it's not working. We're not sure that our new barcode stickers are thermal paper or not - so we tried putting some already printed barcodes through the printer - and that made a light mark, but didnt actually print. So my question is - if thermal paper has already been printed once, can it be printed on again?

I used 192.168.0.1 IP for the station that have internet connection and shared the internet connection, the main question is how I can force other stations on the lan to find and use the shared connection but please let me know if there is another solution.

Alright ill cut down to the point, I just bought another Gig of RAM and i right clicked on My Computer, then Properties and it is still showing the original amount of RAM i had before i installed this new stick.

I am computer illiterate!! At present I have 2 standard computers connected to the internet. I have been offered an apple computer (free). I have an extra port in my router, but am not sure if an apple can be connected alongside my microsofts. Any advice appreciated

I have a linksys G wireless router and the normal DSL router or whatever... I unplugged the internet from the normal one and put it into the wireless router and used an ethernet cable to connect the wireless router and the normal one connected to the computer, it has a wireless network set up and I it says I connect to it, my reception is perfect, but when I get on the internet I can't do anything, and it says there is no internet connection on the desktop... HELP?!

I might switch to vista so I need to back-up all my files. Or, I need more space for my computer temporarily to use it as an external hard drive.

Also do you know how I might use my xbox hard drive, for my computer?

while i'm at it, i'm downloading alleged videogame files off of emule, if it's successful, do you think it would work when I burn the iso to a dvd-r disc? they're xbox, ps2 games. Hope FFXII is promising.

As sad as it is, I'm (by default) the system administrator. My last experience w/computers was Win' 98, and that wasn't pretty. Now I have a brand new system w/all the bells & whistles including Vista, and I'm lost! Those "Dummy" books just ain't cuttin' the mouseturds. I've had to do a system restore 2x already, and it's only a month old! I need LOTS of help figuring things out (preferably without unneccessary techno-jargon) before I do irrepareable damage to my files.

Please tell me about Linux. I am locked out of Windows XP PRO by error message 0x80090019.
My copy of Windows XP is registered and valid but I cannot logon, not even in safe mode. If I install Linux on my unused partition, will I be able to access files and pictures I created using Windows XP? Is it even possible?

How do I do the installation? I don’t even know where to purchase Linux or what it cost.

I updated my webpage a few days ago, and someone in New York said that they were seeing a very old page. Aside from the Cache, do you think that a cheaper hosting provider would do a worse job of getting my website changes out across the web to the different internet providers?

Or maybe it is the person's internet provider that is slow in getting my changes up???

I want to add an explorer thumbnail to a file to show the contents inside the file. This is just like what PDFs, BMPs, PNGs, GIFs, and all the other image formats do. The thumbnail is to be shown in Windows Explorer when the files are under Thumbnails view.

I don't mean I want to change the icon of my file type, but the thumbnails. If I change the icon, all the file types will have the same thumbnail. I want to dynamically change the thumbnail, depending on the contents inside the file. I think this can be done programmatically, but I don't know how.
