I am computer illiterate!! At present I have 2 standard computers connected to the internet. I have been offered an apple computer (free). I have an extra port in my router, but am not sure if an apple can be connected alongside my microsofts. Any advice appreciated

I have a Dell wired to a router and Mac that's connected wirelessly. Both have Internet without any problems. I can also share files between the two and print wirelessly from the Mac to a printer thats connected to the Dell.

Yea it can. Did you think the internet had to be encoded for Macs or something? You should have no problem, and if you do, I'd suggest you go to the nearest Apple store and ask on of their Geniuses; I've heard they can be very helpful.

Yes. That should not be a problem for most routers. You may have a bit of work ahead of you if you want to share files between them, though.

i think it will not be a problem as long as your windows pc is not the one sharing the internet. i have a dsl router and i just plug in my mac. the only problem i think is file sharing. windows cannot recognize files from mac and so as mac. unless your mac is also running windows os. :)

Don't know too much about macs apart from they suck, but they are completley different from one another though an internet router I suppose you mean shouldn't care if you have both (unless macs don't connect to internet oruters or something) o_o
