As sad as it is, I'm (by default) the system administrator. My last experience w/computers was Win' 98, and that wasn't pretty. Now I have a brand new system w/all the bells & whistles including Vista, and I'm lost! Those "Dummy" books just ain't cuttin' the mouseturds. I've had to do a system restore 2x already, and it's only a month old! I need LOTS of help figuring things out (preferably without unneccessary techno-jargon) before I do irrepareable damage to my files.

For Windows-specific help, go to http://www.msfn.org/ . They have a lot of technical discussions, but they are not above helping anybody in need.

For help with specific programs, you may want to check with the site of the program that is giving you problems.

For hardware help, you are probably on your own. Most people don't try to fix hardware problems on their own (me being a rare exception).
