Onecare live is fine it is Microsofts and it does work, you can run a free scan to see. You don't have to buy it until you see it work!

You can also run
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

another free scanner that will clean your issues.
Both of these are good virus scanners. I like TrendMicro but that is a preferrence not a requirement.

Once you get your system clean put a good virus scan / antivirus on it to keep it clean so you don't have this in the future!

It's from Microsoft so it's safe. It's just not very effective.

Download and scan your machine with one of these GOOD anti-spyware /anti-adware programs.

SUPERAntiSpyware:
http://www.superantispyware.com/

A-Squared:
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Ewido (Now called AVG Anti-Spyware) do not download AVG anti-virus.

All the above have a free edition, that's probably what you will want to download.

Hi p123,

And by far this is the BEST answer you are going to get.

DO NOT! I repeat. DO NOT! use One care on a older PC. As a matter of fact, DO NOT use ONE CARE on ANY PC.

You all that want to run this stuff need to READ the stuff that MS says about this stuff so that YOU will know what it does and what it DOESNT do.

Dont just go somewhere and install something because your firend said so.

You have a computer, you know how to read, you have a brain, lets start using them.
